FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS offers a range of old and new stories. The base FFVII storyline follows Cloud Strife as he helps bring down the Shinra organization. For Crisis Core, you have Cloud’s friend, Zack Fair, as he sets a backdrop to Cloud’s personality before the FFVII main storyline. Lastly, and perhaps the most impactful, is the journey of the promising young hero, Sephiroth.
At the onset, this game feels like a remastered version of the original Final Fantasy VII. You still have the cute and miniaturized versions of the characters as you move across the fictional world of Midgar. However, everything is rendered in higher resolution, giving you better detail and more vibrant colors. Similar to its stories, this game combines old and new music to create an engaging soundtrack that it deserves.
On Android, however, the game has been reported to encounter issues. It ranges from the game freezing to outright crashing, requiring players to reinstall the game from scratch. A more pressing issue is its inevitable addition of gacha elements, which tips the scale in favor of players willing to make in-app purchases. In some cases, this even robs players of the opportunity to enjoy the classic FF entry.
